Thank you again to 814 for allowing us to do our vacation homework by closely observing the great rulers of our history. I love this range for that, in addition to its taste unit which I find really very well thought out. It is already difficult to create a real good juice but from there to create a whole range…. I therefore salute the brand (Distrivapes / 814) for this work which, it seems, is paying off in view of the reactions of the vaponauts on the forums and Facebook.
Clovis was the first Christian king of the Franks (as Angela Merkel is the first queen of the Euro). But this monarch has remained especially famous in our memories of schoolchildren for having had the detestable habit of punishing vase breakers with an ax… Not very Christian in attitude but hey, after all, each his passion… Louis XVI made from the locksmith, Henri IV from the hen-au-pot, Henri III turned the pages and Clovis smashed heads with an ax ...

Nothing is missing in terms of security and legal notices. For the more funny, you will be happy to learn that the production laboratory is LFEL, well known in French vaping and a benchmark in the field of safety on its own.
If I had just to put a slight downside to this oh so idyllic picture, I would say that an amber bottle, allowing filtering of UV rays, would be the icing on the cake of an almost perfect packaging.

Comments on the packaging
The packaging is completely in the spirit of the concept of the range and shows us the baptism of Clovis in a very well done “engraving” which brings us back to the good old days of the quill pen. All enhanced by a font that we know well now and which is very “epoch”. Good game! However, I will reiterate my downside, but for different reasons this time, coloring the bottle would be able to further enhance the style effect of the label.But this is only said for the record because objectively, we are already on a pretty packaging , simple but adapted to the price of the juice.

Comments on the taste of the juice
I admit that I don't really know what Clovis could taste like and I doubt that a monarch of that time, however well groomed he was, tasted like vanilla cream but, in the absence of irrefutable proof of the contrary reported by historians specializing in the Merovingian period, I must give the benefit of the doubt!
This liquid is a gourmand, well constructed and well assembled. It is undeniably part of the sub-category of custards. On the expiration, we have a good vanilla sweet in the mouth, creamy but not excessively and a fairly dry biscuit dough that go perfectly together. Everything is perfectly coherent and we even have a few diffuse hints of chocolate, at least I interpret it like that. When exhaling, we are on a sharper element, maple syrup, which develops wonderfully in this climate of sweetness by imposing its particular taste of sap. Everything is precise, a clear sign of the use of quality aromas and makes you want to come back to it, especially since disgust is not on the menu at all. 20ml shipped in two days, I think I would know otherwise ...
Even if the taste signature remains classic, the flavors developed in this liquid are sufficiently sharp and in total cohesion so that Clovis is not just another custard but is positioned clearly at the top of the basket.

My mood ticket on this juice
The more I advance in this range, the more I notice a real cohesion between the different products. If the concept is perfectly declined, the gourmet orientations of the range can only delight me. 814 explores the past and sweetness is its hallmark. A sweetness that does not ignore strong flavors, however. And, most importantly, I realize that we immediately recognize an 814! The personality of the range is therefore sufficiently marked to be tasted.
Clovis is therefore the custard of the gang but a more custard, which adds many other gourmet elements to extricate itself from the crowd. A good custard that remarkably holds its place in the category and stands out for the use of maple syrup for a more particular and addictive flavor.
Another good point for the rising brand…. we go to 815 soon ?????
