Comments on the packaging

Flavor Art presents the Burley to us. This type of tobacco generally finds its place in a blend, but here it is alone with a promise of strength and character typical of its reference.

From the classic range entirely devoted to tobacco, this e-liquid is available in four nicotine levels: 0, 4.5, 9 and 18mg/ml. A small problem: a 12 or an 11 is missing in the list to ensure a median proposal between the large gap that separates the 18 from the 9.

Very focused on safety, the brand claims production without protein, GMO, diacetyl, preservative, sweetener, coloring, gluten and no more alcohol. We are therefore guaranteed to avoid most of the problems associated with the voluntary or involuntary introduction of questionable molecules.

The liquid is composed of a ratio of 50% PG, 40% VG, the rest being divided between aromatic compounds, Milli-Q water and nicotine.

The bottle is in PET, a traditional bottle at this level of the range. The cork/dropper tandem is quite original since the cork does not separate from the bottle. The tip is thin enough for any type of filling even if the presence of the cap may interfere in some cases. It seems that, in the near future, this conditioning will evolve.

With a price of 5.50 €, we are of course on the entry level. The price corresponds to the core target of the manufacturer: first-time vapers and experienced people who do not want to change their vaping habits.

Comments on the security, legal, health and religious aspects

No obvious problem concerning the legal aspects, except for the absence of certain pictograms weighted by written warnings. We also note the absence of the famous mandatory notice but which is not yet at the time of writing these lines. There is no doubt that the manufacturer will be able to adapt in real time as soon as necessary.

Note the presence of distilled water, generally used to thin the base and to accentuate the development of steam.

The child lock is different from the usual one. It consists of pressing on both sides of the cap to allow it to be unlocked. We could be cautious about the efficiency but it works very well in use.

The name of the laboratory and a telephone number complete the range to ensure unblemished visibility and transparency. Some information is at the limit of visibility but it is the game of 10ml bottles overloaded with information.

Appreciation of the packaging

  • Does the graphic design of the label and the product name agree ?: Yes
  • Global correspondence of the packaging with the product name: Yes
  • The packaging effort made is in accordance with the price category: Yes

Comments on the packaging

The packaging is traditional. If we except the stopper / dropper unit which will probably disappear in the next batches, nothing exceptional distinguishes this bottle from the whole production in this level of the range.

The manufacturer's logo covers the label, overlying an illustration relating to the product name, which name appears roughly within the image. Nothing very artistic here but just a simple bottle that is neither exceptional nor unworthy and announces the color of an entry-level liquid.

About color, that of the cap varies depending on the level of nicotine. Green for 0, light blue for 4.5, dark blue for 9, and red for 18.

Sensory appreciations

  • The taste and the name of the product, do they agree ?: No
  • Did I like this juice ?: No
  • This liquid reminds me: A blond pretty bland and too sweet

Comments on the taste of the juice

Burley, like Kentucky which is very close to it, is typically a “condiment” tobacco in the sense that it is usually used to spice up a mixture. Indeed, this tobacco is quite brutal, strong and dry, very dosed in nicotine and little in sugar naturally. It is found for example in American blends to strengthen the presence of virginia and oriental tobacco.

Here we have a very light blond tobacco with flowery aspects. At the end of the mouth, there is almost the presence of brown with a deeper note that emerges imperceptibly.

The aromatic power is low, which gives a lot (too much) room to the base common to all the tobaccos of this range, generally too sweet, which here takes precedence over the subject of the recipe. No more hints of strong and powerful tobacco, this Burley is bland, common and quite poor in sensations. The usual sweetness here becomes sweetish and the high level of sugar felt contravenes the expression of tobacco.

Not to flee because it remains steamy but certainly not a success.

Tasting recommendations

  • Recommended power for optimal taste: 38 W
  • Type of steam obtained at this power: Thick
  • Hit type obtained at this power: Medium
  • Atomizer used for the review: Narda, Origen V2Mk2
  • Value of the resistance of the atomizer in question: 0.8
  • Materials used with the atomizer: Stainless steel, Cotton

Comments and recommendations for an optimal tasting

To vape in a fairly tight clearomizer, reconstructibles will not develop its aromatic aspect but will rather insist on its sweet aspect. It holds the power well however and its volume of steam is important compared to the rate of VG. The ideal temperature is warm / hot and the hit just average.

Too bad for a tobacco known to be strong and beginners will do better to turn to other references in the range, more in line with what they promise.

Recommended Moments

  • Recommended times of the day: Morning - coffee breakfast, End of lunch / dinner with a coffee, End of the evening with or without herbal tea
  • Can this juice be recommended as an All Day Vape: No

Overall average (excluding packaging) of the Vapelier for this juice: 3.63 / 5 3.6 5 out of stars

My mood ticket on this juice

The Burley of Flavor Art will not remain, for me, an unforgettable memory.

Poor in taste and too sweet, we do not find the strong and dry tobacco promised but rather a sweet tobacco, not fundamentally unpleasant but which is far from being the most interesting of the range.

I am fortunate to know the Burley aroma from the same manufacturer, much drier and more edgy, closer to its botanical counterpart. I therefore see in this variation in e-liquid the use of a naturally too sweet base which parasitizes the impact of the aroma and an aromatic concentration that is probably too light to really convince.
