Ah… Sigelei! The ancients of the vape knew well the Chinese brand which had the reputation, a couple of years ago, to release robust, reliable material and which represented somewhere the high end of Chinese material. Between the Zmax, the Zmax mini, a few well-seen mechanics, the brand had established its recognition among vapers by its adjusted prices and the quality of its achievements.

Then there was the episode of the Legend, then that of the 20W then the 30W…. mods which will not remain in the annals of the genre because of their average reliability and recurring problems of e-liquid flowing on the chipset and making it impossible either to display or to operate ... It was the dark days of Sigelei, an era that the manufacturer is trying to make people forget by releasing today mods well worked and varied in order to stick as close as possible to the constantly diversified demand of fans of aromatic clouds.

The 150W represents today, pending the imminent arrival of the 150TC equipped with temperature control, the top of the range and claims to be able to reach high powers while ensuring great versatility and a beautiful autonomy in quiet vape.

Positioned against the IPV 3 in this segment, the brand will have a lot to do to win, especially as the 150W arrives at a price of around 129 €, or about fifteen euros additional and also has the chance to be powered by a very popular chipset, the Yihi SX330V3.

The 150W is therefore a mod in box format, large, which accommodates 2 18650 batteries. I would like to remind you, as the manufacturer does in its manual, that it is essential to use batteries of the same brand and of same model to achieve a consistent and stable power system. Likewise, make sure that the two batteries have the same charge level. The size of the box will undoubtedly be a brake for small hands but yet it remains comfortable, thanks to a measured width, a good balance of masses once equipped with an ato and a sanded finish, pleasant against the skin.

The finish does not suffer from any obvious criticism. The assemblies are excellent, as proof of this is the installation of the magnetic battery access cover which is a real pleasure to remove or replace and which offers the supreme luxury of not moving a bit in use. thanks to two guides which block the cover laterally and vertically. The vents are located under the mod and seem sized to deal with any overheating issue.

The switch is very nice because of good size and very flexible. It is easily found under the finger because its highlight surrounded by a plastic ring makes it inevitable. The interface buttons, “+” and “-” are smaller but just as effective and are perfectly located above the Oled screen. The screen itself enjoys excellent visibility thanks to a table format divided into four sections: one for power, the other for voltage, the third for charging the batteries and the last for displaying the battery. resistance.

You can block the selected mod parameters by pressing the “+” and “-” keys simultaneously and unlock them in the same way. Press the switch five times to turn the system on or off.

The features of the 150W are limited. You will not find here possibilities of loading by micro USB. You will have to remove the batteries and load them on a good external charger, which in my humble opinion is less convenient but much better for the life of the batteries and their performance.

You also won't find a possibility to reverse the direction of the screen.

And no more the possibility of adjusting presets like on the IPV3.

By cons, the 150W offer interesting features in terms of protections. In addition to those listed above, there is an internal PCB temperature sensor that will tell you if the temperature is too high. Which is always useful to keep his mod in good condition as long as possible.

The installation of the batteries is easy. The measurements made show a good regularity of the smoothing and the latency between the fire and the heating of the coil almost non-existent. Sigelei seems to have wanted to promote reliability and quality of rendering to the detriment of the multiplication of functionalities and personally, this is an approach that I appreciate.

The packaging is certainly rudimentary: a simple cardboard box with the mod and the instructions BUT quite classy in its appearance with a mat black background color and the logos and mentions in silver and shiny red. It's simple but it has its effect.

The instructions in English are well done and do not ignore common sense recommendations to avoid any accident. What even more regret that it is bilingual, but in English and Chinese only. 😕

The real “plus” objective of this packaging, which significantly raises its rating, consists of the free inclusion of a beautifully crafted silicone cover that will prevent material damage to your 150W in the event of a fall or mechanical incident. What's more, this cover conforms to the shapes of the 150W without being painful to put on or take off.

Notwithstanding the size of the box which we have already spoken about, nothing hinders its use. The mod is stable, efficient and very autonomous.

Unlike a lot of boxes typed “high power”, the 150W does not ignore the quiet vape. Between 15 and 20W, the rendering is very consistent, very smooth and does not overwhelm the flavors. We feel that the programming of the chipset has been sufficiently well thought out to cover the entire spectrum of available power. The vape is soft and will perfectly accompany your RBA between 0.7 and 2Ω (although the Sigelei can reach 3Ω).

Between the very low cashable resistance (0.1Ω), the power that can be reached and the internal protections, the practice of sub-ohm and power-vaping activities is greatly facilitated and secure. At 70W on a Haze mounted in 0.2Ω, we are already very heavy in terms of rendering. At 100W, it continues to climb with glee and beware of dry hits. I did a test at 150W but I must admit that the duration of my puff was short even if the cloud could have served as a support for all the gods of Olympus together ...

The maximum intensity that the mod can deliver is around 30A and therefore to really reach the 150W promised, it will be necessary to “be content” with a resistance between 0.16 and 0.4Ω.

The mood ticket of the reviewer

Are we witnessing the return of the legendary Sigelei? The one we haven't seen at the head of the gondola for some time after the more or less happy wanderings of the previous hits?

In any case, the 150W is not there to make up the figure. Well built, well finished, with a powerful and versatile chipset, the mod presents itself to us under the best auspices and does better than being competitive.

If it is not surrounded by the same aura as its direct competitor, the IPV 3, I find it better finished, more pleasant in the hand and above all more versatile. In terms of raw power, he does not cheat and places himself in direct confrontation with his model without blushing at the comparison. On the other hand, it wins on low powers where its programming allows it to also shine where the IPV 3 is not necessarily the most comfortable.

Excellent material, well built and looking made to last. Just 10% too expensive compared to the market but that in no way affects its intrinsic qualities.
